The Trade Testing Board is working under the administrative control of Directorate General of Technical Education & Manpower Training, Government of KPK, Pakistan. It is corporate body to control, develop and regulate Technical, Professional, Commercial Education as well as Trade and Skill Courses up to Diploma level in the Province fo Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It was set up as a successor to the West Pakistan Board of Technical Education which was constituted in the year 1962.
The Government recognized technical and vocational training as driving force for Human Resource Development. Trade Testing Board was constituted in 1979 in Labour Department, Government of Punjab to function as examining body for skilled workforce at a uniform standard throughout the Province. The Board was re-constituted in 1984 to expand its functions and to improve examination system. After promulgation of TEVTA ordinance in the year 1999 Trade Testing Board was place under TEVTA to ensure uniformity of Technical and Vocational Training at National Standards.
The Institute of Modern Technology & NIMLS College is helping to promote Distance Learning Education Program and the TTB issue competency based Certification, Diplomas on assignments basis duly assessed by experts in the field of Research, Management, Health, IT, Engineering and helps the underprivileged communities in making the necessary socio-economics changes. Human Resource Development now has become a complex issue and it can no longer be the responsibility for the single stakeholder either in Public or Private Sector. There is need to develop a new strategic Public Private Partnership to mobilize all available resource in Public and Private Sector for making training system more efficient and demand-driven.
THE SKILL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL has been constituted by the MINISTRY OF LABOR, MANPOWER & OVERSEAS PAKISTANIS, GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN on the suggestions of Employers Federation of Pakistan under the National Training Ordinance 1980 and National Training Amendment Ordinance 2002.
The Skill Development Council, Lahore has been set up with the main objectives to enhance participation of employers of private sector and public sector in skill training activities and create a training culture in the industry, to establish productive links between industry and training providers, to meet the the training needs of the identified skills and to build a competent, flexible and demand driven workforce so that it can face the challenges of competitiveness in local and global market. The valued concept of public and private partnership in education and vocational training is the only solution to meet the most critical challenges of Human Resource Development.
SDA (Skill Development Association) is a Professional organization established in 2011, constituted by the Government of the Punjab, Manpower and Overseas Pakistanis. In addition to its accreditation with various top ranked organizations, colleges / universities abroad to excel distance learning on fast track, online, competency based and regular education for life experienced, matured and on-job professionals.
SDA operates on Public-Private Partnership. Active Participation of Employers Federation of Pakistan [EFP] and Private Sector Businessmen have created the success story of the Skill Development Association, Rawalpindi. It is affiliated with Foreign Office, Foreign universities & colleges and is engaged in Distance Learning Education. SDA is engaged to identify, develop and arrange Vocational, Technical / Professional and IT Training Programs. Training Programs are flexible, demand driven and cost effective with maximum participation from the Employers. SDA, Rawalpindi also offers tailor-made courses, according to the customers needs. It conducts Training Needs Assessment Surveys and schedules its training programs accordingly.
